VIRUS EFFF YOUUUUU

It could be awhile before I blog. While google viewing "purple" to show my friend what shade my bedroom used to be I came upon this block with 9 shades of purple, clicked the picture and BAMM VIRUS!

I think it's stealing passwords and shit. Lovely. It's a good thing I do everything ONLINE.

Microsoft Security Essentials did shit all. So right now Norton is trying to save the day but probably won't because it's so fuckered I can't get online, can't remove, can't update.

Anybody know if places like future shop or best buy can get rid of these things and the cost?

Right now I'm on my mister's macbook, which is also garbage, if it unplugs, the battery is fried.

  1. When I got one of those nasties, it took rebooting the entire hard drive and wiping it out completely to cure it. Sorry you got one. That sucks totally!

  2. I don't know how to fix the problem, but if you're able to save your computer I highly recommend Avast Antivirus. It's what I use, and I've never had a problem since installing---it prevents me from opening anything suspicious or bugged, it's free, has frequent updates, etc. I'm not fond of Norton---they seem to let a lot stuff slip through.

  3. The Best Buy here is completely imcompetent with that kind of stuff, but I don't know how yours would be. You could call a local computer repair shop. But they'd most likely wipe your computer. Do you have a backup restore point on your computer? When I get a virus I go through my files, find it, and delet it maually, but unless you're particularly knowledgeable about computers you may not know how.

  5. Malwarebytes is free and it's the only thing I've ever found that gets rid of the bad stuff. I had some family members use my desktop and just mess it up all to hell. Avast didn't even touch it. I also use SuperAntiSpyware to get rid of the tracking cookies and little things. Hope that helps ya!

  6. Dez beat me to it! I was going to suggest Malware bytes, my boyfriend used to work for Dell as a computer tech and that is what they used. If you can't log in normally without the virus messing things up, start up in safe mode (with networking so you can get online and download it) and then run it there. After it completes, restart your computer and run it again on your normal login. Hope that helps you out, I don't want to miss any great EOTD looks! :)

  7. My husband always says "wipe and reformat!" any time a computer has a virus. It's a giant pain in the ass, but worth it.

  8. Also try Spybot, Ad-aware and Kaspersky.
